SOLSC 7 of 31 - Poetry Friday - Night Music

Join me this month as I write a slice of my life each day this March and join many others sharing slices at twowritingteachers.com.  My students will also be slicing this month and you can find links to their daily blogs HERE.

I am also linking up to Poetry Friday today.  I have only shared one poem so far but I'm ready to share this one. Margaret is hosting the Poetry Friday at HERE this week.

Night Music

Daytime sounds have faded away
Lifting the melody, the overlay
TV off,
Radio ‘click’
Worries.
Is my child sick?

Fridge lays down a bass line hum
Mantle clock ticking is the drum
A child’s cough,
Car door slams,
Snoring cat
Night Music Jam

  1. You certainly paint the imagery of tucking in day and greeting the quiet hum of evening. I love my nights. I can see why your students write so well. They have a great role model.

  2. Great poem, Max - loved this line:
"Fridge lays down a bass line hum"
and bravo to you for doing Poetry Friday, as well - I am overwhelmed by the slicing challenge, but I do miss the PF connection. Maybe next week.

  6. This is incredible, Max! I love this line: "Fridge lays down a bass line hum." Even the rhythm of the poem as a whole feels jazzy. This would be a great poem to read out loud, I think.
